John Lambrichts (1954), geboren en opgegroeid in Stein, woont in Maastricht. Hij dankt zijn bekendheid aan indringende fotoprojecten als 'Walton City', 'Ouderen en Kanker', 'Brickfields', 'Tak' en 'Dust'. Van 'Oeverlangen aan de Maas', zijn meest recente fotoproject, verscheen in 2011 een fotoboek. Hij exposeerde in binnen- en buitenland: o.a. Fotofestival Noorderlicht Groningen, BredaPhoto International Photo Festival Breda, Bonnefantenmuseum Maastricht en Fotofestival Lodz in Polen. Met 'Walton City' won hij een eerste prijs bij de jaarlijkse Zilveren Camera-wedstrijd en de gelijknamige cd-rom won de Euro Comenius in Berlijn. 'Ouderen en Kanker' ontving de vijfjaarlijkse VVAA-prijs als belangrijke bijdrage aan de beeldvorming van de gezondheidszorg in Nederland.
BIOGRAPHY
John Lambrichts (1954) lives in Maastricht. He is known for probing photo projects such as 'Walton City', 'Elderly and Cancer', 'Brickfields', 'Tak' and 'Dust'. In 2011 the photo book 'Oeverlangen by the Meuse', his most recent photo project, was published. He has held exhibitions both at home and abroad: e.g. Noorderlicht Photo Festival Groningen, BredaPhoto International Photo Festival Breda, Bonnefanten Museum Maastricht and the Lodz Photo Festival in Poland. 'Walton City' was awarded first prize in the annual Silver Camera competition. The 'Walton City' CD-ROM won the Euro Comenius at Berlin. 'Elderly and Cancer' received the five-yearly VVAA award for its important contribution to the image-forming of healthcare in Dutch society.
